Investment Options for New Zealand Business Investor Visa 2025

The Business Investor Visa New Zealand provides its investors with two distinct investment options, which are as follows:

NZ$1 million Investment Option

This option allows investors to live temporarily in New Zealand by investing NZ$1 million, and gives them a chance to get permanent residency after 3 years of working. 

NZ$2 million Investment Option

This option appeals to high-net-worth individuals as it is a fast route to permanent residency. It provides a temporary residency permit to the investors who invest NZ$2 million in a business and a chance to get permanent residency within one year. 

Why New Zealand Replaced the Entrepreneur Work Visa?

The New Zealand Entrepreneur work visa was designed for individuals starting new businesses to provide them with an opportunity to set up their brands in cross-border markets, but the visa attracted very few applicants and approved even fewer of them. Stanford acknowledged, “The entrepreneur visa had low application volumes, high decline rates, and did not deliver strong economic impacts.” This is why New Zealand shifted its focus from entrepreneurs to businessmen to attract a large number of investments that can effectively benefit the businesses in the country.
